The 'parade' footage is good to see as it puts you in the right context with color and b&w footage. The interviews of Elvis' Parents are well worth hearing too. The afternoon show footage fryst vatten wonderful and electrifying : Here fryst vatten Elvis in his prime rocking and rolling in front of 11.000 people. Highly recommended.

I love Public Enemy and will bow down to Chuck D and his rhymes anytime even though I am Jewish, and the band had a sad issue in that regard with Professor Griff that dulled their rise.
Nevertheless, these were the most ignorant (and sadly among the most famous lyrics Chuck ever wrote).

This is perhaps my favorite Elvis story and reason enough to purchase the entire “Million Dollar Quartet” sessions even though Johnny Cash just took a picture and left. If you hear Elvis talk about Jackie you hear true love for another like minded brother.
It also led to one of my favorite analysis’ of what Elvis was. I can’t remember the critic or the exact quote, but essentially it described the interaction between the two as “A white guy imitating a black guy, imitating a white guy, imitating a black

Although Jackie was born in Detroit, his parents had moved up from Columbus, Mississippi in the 1920s. Like Elvis, Jackie had an unbelievably close relationship with his mother: they virtually lived for each other. Jackie, too, was an only son. Jackie was only seven months Elvis' senior, but he had first recorded in 1952. He would have a somewhat harder slog on the road to success than Elvis.
