Dispatch is an American indie-roots band founded in in Middlebury, Vermont.
The band originated in the early s as One Fell dykning, but changed their name to Dispatch in Chad Urmston, Braddigan, and Pete (Francis) Heimbold, who were all attending Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont comprised the band's lineup throughout their entire career. Their music has drawn on several influences, such as acousticfolk-rock, reggae, and funk.
Dispatch gained much recognition outside of New England, without any help from a label, and stuck tillsammans long enough to release seven albums, three of which were live performances. During concerts, the grupp had been known to improvise upon their skiva releases, often resulting in a song ending in twice the length of the original. The group was also fond of switching instruments and vocal duties when playing live.

The band, which is based in the Boston area, was originally active from until The members then announced a hiatus, which would ultimately last for almost a decade; during this period, the band came together for reunion concerts in Boston (), New York City (), and Washington, D.C. (). The hiatus ended at the beginning of , when the band announced a national tour. In May of the same year, Dispatch released an EP containing six new songs, their first all-new release since The band released both their first studio album in over a decade, Circles Around the Sun, and an iTunes session in and toured North America that summer in support of the album.[3][4] On Apr
