Emaline Delapaix is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who writes ethereal folk pop songs on acoustic guitar, piano, celtic harp, and other bowed instruments. She also plays a handful of Nordic and Western European traditional songs exploring her ancestry. She is a self-taught singer who found her own voice and a way to deal with her emotions while growing up in a violent home by listening to many ground-breaking female artists, including Kate Bush, Cyndi Lauper, Tori Amos, Melanie Safka, Nina Simone, Heather Nova, Julee Cruise, Bjørk, Anja Garbarek, and Stina Nordenstam. Over the last few years, she’s drawn new inspiration from experimental Scandinavian artists Eivør, Myrkur, Nanna Barslev, and Jenny Wilson. Emaline’s clear and haunting voice spans several octaves, switching between gentle lullabies and siren songs with ease and authenticity, often moving audience members to tears (in a good way!).
