Erzen Shkololli (born , Pejë, Kosovë) is an artist, curator and co-founder of EXIT Contemporary Art Institute in Pejë. His art practice utilizes local rituals and folklore to draw attention to socio-political situations. Through his work, Shkololli acts as a sort of instinctive and biased anthropologist, re-enacting traditional ceremonies, while insinuating contemporary symbols and disillusion. This interplay of past and present typifies a certain generation of art practice throughout the Balkans, locating Shkololli within this broad cultural context. ERZEN SHKOLOLLI
Erzen Shkololli was born in Pejë, Kosovo, in and lives and works in Prishtina. Through his work, Shkololli strives to re-enact traditional ceremonies and utilize local rituals and folklore to draw attention to socio-political situations, while insinuating contemporary symbols and disillusion. Shkololli is also well known as an active mediator and organizer of the inter- and intra-cultural dialogue between Kosovo and the international art world, as well as within Kosovo itself. Since he has been a member of the European Cultural Parliament. Shkololli’s work has appeared in exhibitions at significant European museums such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Centre Pompidou, Paris, Tate Modern in London and MUMOK, Vienna. He was awarded the DAAD Fellowship in Berlin /09 and Premio Michetti Prize of the Fondazion Michetti di Francavilla al Mare in Shkolollli has been commissioned to create new works for the Folkestone Triennial curated by Andrea Schlieker

Erzen Shkololli
Erzen Shkololli is an artist and curator of contemporary art. So far, he has successfully managed several art institutions, including Albania's National Gallery of Art (–) and Kosovo's National galleri of Art (–). beneath his leadership, the two institutions were transformed, and these respective institutions were turned into central features of the countries' dynamic cultural space.
Shkololli is also an active organizer of the trans-cultural agenda regionally and internationally.
